Gigant Berlin
Released: 1964-01-01The film shows everyday life in Berlin in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It presents a modern West Berlin after reconstruction. Fittingly, it shows, among other things, the Hansaviertel, which was redeveloped in the 1950s. The film documents several special events in Berlin's contemporary history; the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, John F. Kennedy's visit in 1963 and the demolition of some parts of the old Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
