11 year old Juniper an independent but lonely child who spends her time daydreaming and roaming the Utah desert , chasing lizards, climbing rocks, sleeping under the stars, and swimming in rivers. She is everything innocent and free about childhood. So when her mom tells her they’re moving away, it feels as if her world is being ripped away from her. She creates a plan to run away to California, where she will meet her boy crush, 80’s heart throb Mackenzie Astin, from the tv show Facts of Life. Mackenzie is based on a true story. A tone poem of memories and a reflection on the innocence of childhood and the fragile moments where a child comes to understand that everyone grows up.
