Taeko, a widow, runs a hot spring inn on her own and raises her daughter, Shigemi. Genjiro, a tough chef, and Miki, a former delinquent, work at the inn. The two have had a long-standing physical relationship. One day, Okada, the managing director of a trading company, arrives at the inn. The night before, Taeko got drunk and had sex with him. Okada aggressively approached her, saying he was divorcing his wife and asking if she wanted to join him. Taeko took a bath to wash away the dirt from Okada's embrace, and Genjiro asked her to use his savings to pay off her debt. However, Taeko could not accept the money. Shigemi, who was listening to the conversation outside, discovered that she was not her real daughter...
