In a set of buildings on a remote Maine harbor, some 60 workers bend wooden planks around a frame, make perfect cuts with their saws, and sand edges to create flawless joints – processes that culminate in the stunning wooden vessels made at the Brooklin Boat Yard. These boatbuilders are among the finest in the world. They are also the friends, fathers and husbands within Brooklin’s close-knit community.
