Jacques Fabbri (or Fabri), whose real name was Jacques Claude Fabbricotti, was born on July 4, 1925, in Paris and died on December 24, 1997, in Tourgéville. He was a French actor, director, and producer who left his mark on theater, cinema, and television with his warm presence and good-natured humor. Trained at the École du Vieux-Colombier after World War II, he began his career on stage before founding his own troupe in 1953 and then directing the Comédie de Provence. In cinema, he worked with directors such as Jacques Becker and Yves Robert, and in 1965 he directed his only feature film, Les Pieds dans le plâtre. A familiar face on television thanks to series such as Schulmeister, l'espion de l'empereur and the show Tutti Fabbri, he was also a passionate fan of traditional jazz. Married to actress Claudine Collas, he now rests in Montmartre Cemetery, leaving behind the memory of a popular and versatile artist.
