Thomas Brown is a British supervising art director. He studied Film and Television Design with a focus on Production Design at Kingston University from 1997 to 1998. He began his professional career in the art department in the late 1990s in roles such as art department assistant, draughtsman, and assistant art director on productions including The End of the Affair (1999), Some Voices (2000), The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (2001), and I Capture the Castle (2003). His early television credits include art director work on Vexed (2010) and the first season of Game of Thrones (2011). Brown advanced to art director roles on major studio features including Anna Karenina (2012), Thor: The Dark World(2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Doctor Strange (2016), King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Beginning with Thor: The Dark World (2013), he has continued to work with production designer Charles Wood on subsequent projects, forming a long-standing professional collaboration spanning multiple Marvel Studios films and other large-scale fantasy and science fiction productions. From the late 2010s onward, Brown transitioned into supervising art director positions on high-profile international productions. His supervising art director credits include Men in Black: International (2019), Black Widow (2021), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Heart of Stone (2023), Project Hail Mary (2026) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026), alongside art director work on Argylle (2024) and senior art director duties on How to Train Your Dragon (2025). Brown shared the Florida Film Critics Circle Award for Best Art Direction/Production Design for Anna Karenina (2012). He is a multiple recipient of the Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Award, winning for Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), and receiving a nomination for Doctor Strange (2016). He also shared the Art Directors Guild Award for Period Film for Anna Karenina (2012).
