Josué García Prado is a Guatemalan filmmaker born in Quetzaltenango. He graduated as a documentary director and editor from Casa Comal Cine y Escuela de Televisión. Since then, he has directed several short documentary films that have been screened and awarded at international film festivals. His recent short documentary Sarna has received international recognition, with selections and awards at festivals including Sheffield DocFest, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Tampere Film Festival, Leiden Shorts, DocsMX, SF Indie Fest, Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF), and the Ícaro International Film Festival, where it won Best Central American Documentary Short Film. García Prado participated in the XV Edition of Talents Guadalajara and was part of the CAMERA Studio program. His work focuses on memory, empathy, and personal narratives explored through observational documentary filmmaking.
