Marie France Louis

Marie France Louis is originally from Carrefour, Haiti. At a very young age, she joined a choir at her church. She got involved with theatre for the first time in high school, where she fell in love with French classic literature. She then wrote and directed three stage plays in high school about the Haitian revolution. In university, she completed a degree in industrial engineering one year early, with a minor in economic science, from University Quisqueya. After working for in Haiti, she relocated to New Jersey in December 2010 to be with her growing family. Almost 20 years after finishing high school, Marie France finally reconnected with acting and writing. In December 2019, she wrote, produced, starred in and co-directed her first short film "Hurtful Truth," which was released in November 2020. The film tells the story of a young woman victim of sexual assault, which was inspired from personal experience also impacting many members of the cast and crew. As she strives to grow as an artist, her goal is to continue to work with others to give a voice to the voiceless by creating projects that help bring awareness to social issues and promote local talents in the film industry.
