Gilbert Gabriel is a multi-instrumentalist, film composer, producer, lecturer and lyricist best known as a co-founding member and keyboardist of the 1980s British baroque indie-pop trio The Dream Academy. Together with frontman Nick Laird-Clowes and multi-instrumentalist Kate St John, Gabriel helped shape the band's signature lush, pastoral, and atmospheric sound. Since then he has been writing and producing music for film and television in the United Kingdom and Poland. He has also lectured on 'film and the soundtrack' in Cambridge as well as at Liverpool and Cardiff universities
