Nimesh Shrestha

Nimesh Shrestha is a filmmaker based in Kathmandu who started his journey at the age of 16 by creating short comedy videos on mobile phones. Realizing his passion for the craft, he pursued formal education at Oscar International College (College of Film Studies). During his academic years, he gained early recognition for his work, including a third-prize win for his first short film Choice in a competition organized by WWF. His subsequent project, Heaven is Black, received significant critical acclaim, earning the Audience Choice Award at the Toronto Nepali Film Festival and a special jury mention at the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF). After graduating, Shrestha transitioned into freelance work before co-founding Fun Revolution TV, a YouTube-based channel, alongside Anish Jung Thapa. He views the platform as a vital space for filmmakers to experiment and refine their skills before entering the mainstream industry. Since 2017, he has focused on directing and acting in short films produced by the channel, with a long-term goal of creating impactful web series and feature cinema. In addition to his creative roles as a director, writer, and editor, he was born in 1994 and remains an active figure in the evolving landscape of Nepali visual storytelling.
