Jalen Robinson (born July 11th, 2001) is an American film director, writer, producer, and editor from Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2023 with a B.A in Film and Media Production with a focus on cinematography. His debut short film, The Sleeping Village (2023) received the Director's Award for Voice and Vision from Cheryl Boone Isaacs, director of the Sidney Poitier New American Film School at Arizona State University. Jalen’s storytelling foundation began in high school, where he gravitated toward documentary filmmaking. Deeply influenced by gonzo journalism, cinéma vérité, and observational cinematography, Jalen's work blurs the line between reality and narrative.
