Afroza Momen, though a doctor by profession, has always harbored a deep-seated creativity. Born in Dariay Daulat, Bancharampur, Brahmonbaria, she was involved with a theater group in Sylhet alongside her studies and even performed on stage. After completing her MBBS from Sylhet Medical College, she pursued an M.Phil post-graduate degree from BSMMU. For 30 years, she has taught in various medical colleges across the country, serving as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. She continues to work as a Principal of a medical college, alongside her teaching duties. In addition to her medical career, she has a passion for music, having trained under various maestros from a young age. She earned a degree in Classical and Nazrul Sangeet from Chhayanaut. She has performed duets with renowned artists on various music platforms, both at home and abroad, and has released several songs. In recognition of her musical talents, she was awarded the Best Artist title by the Bangladesh Music Journalists Association and the Asian Star Award. During her childhood, she also won prizes in music competitions at district and divisional levels. Besides her musical pursuits, she regularly writes stories and poems. Her story inspired the film "Megher Kopat," in which she also played the character "Neela."
