Máximo Carranza (born December 9, 2005, in Córdoba, Argentina) is an Argentine filmmaker attending film school at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC). In his first year, he wrote one of the highest-evaluated short films of his incoming class, "El Códice" (The Codex), a four-minute science fiction thriller about government control through technology and the censorship of analog media. He also co-edited the film and was responsible for its sound design. He later co-directed the short science fiction comedy "Misión: C.B.A" (Mission: C.B.A) alongside his frequent collaborator Victoria Agostinis. The film follows two astronauts who accidentally land in Córdoba. Carranza wrote the screenplay and co-edited the project. He made his solo directorial debut with the two-minute, black-and-white, supernatural thriller "El Fantasma Natural" (The Natural Ghost). In addition, he served as executive producer on that film and on three other short films: "Te Extraño" (I Miss You), "Adiós" (Goodbye) and "Melodía de una Amiga" (Melody of a Friend). Carranza is also the founder and head of independent production company Porfiado Media.
