Joseph Rome

Birthday: 2008-06-27

Joseph Rome is a filmmaker and storyteller whose passion for cinema has been a driving force in his life for as long as he can remember. From an early age, he was drawn to films and the way stories could be told through visuals, emotion, and character. Over time, that interest grew into a deep commitment to filmmaking, and Rome became known among his peers for his determination and focus whenever he takes on a project. Whether developing ideas, working on set, or shaping the final story, he approaches every production with dedication and a clear vision for the message he wants to share. As he continued developing his craft, Joseph began working closely with fellow filmmaker and longtime collaborator Joshua Guzman. Together, the two founders of Rome Works created an independent film studio to produce their own films and creative projects. Through Rome Works, they have worked side by side on multiple productions, learning the many roles that go into filmmaking, such as directing, cinematography, editing, and production planning. Their partnership has allowed them to experiment creatively while building a strong foundation in collaborative filmmaking. One of Joseph Rome’s most notable films is *A Step Away*, a project that became a significant milestone in his early career. The film explores emotional and personal themes, reflecting his interest in telling stories that connect with audiences on a deeper level. Through projects like this, Rome has begun shaping his voice as a storyteller while gaining experience in directing and developing meaningful narratives. Joseph draws creative inspiration from filmmakers such as Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the directing duo known collectively as Daniels. Their unique style of storytelling, emotional depth, and creative filmmaking techniques have influenced the way Rome approaches his own work. He admires how their films balance imaginative storytelling with powerful human themes, something he hopes to bring into his own projects as he continues growing as a director. Rome’s goal as a filmmaker is to inspire the next generation through the stories he tells on screen. He believes that film has the power to encourage creativity, start conversations, and connect people through shared experiences. Through his work, he hopes to create films that motivate others to pursue their own creative passions while reminding audiences of the importance of perseverance and imagination. Joseph also credits two important mentors who helped guide both him and his collaborator along their filmmaking journey: Mr. Ghastin and Mr. T. Their mentorship, support, and willingness to share their knowledge played an important role in helping Joseph and Joshua develop their filmmaking skills. The lessons they learned from these mentors have helped shape the way Rome approaches storytelling, collaboration, and creative leadership as he continues building his career in film.
