Jeff Hamilton

Jeff Hamilton, known in the art world as XVALA, is an Oklahoma-born new media and post-internet artist and film producer whose work explores the intersection of internet culture, politics, celebrity, surveillance, and contemporary art in the digital age. Intentionally blurring his identity as both Jeff Hamilton and XVALA, he emerged from the post-internet art movement through pioneering street art projects in Los Angeles that pulled imagery and entities directly from the internet into physical public spaces, examining the collapse between online culture and real-world identity. Through multimedia installations, celebrity artifacts, film, and his long-running Meme Ranch project, his work has focused on the relationship between media spectacle and American cultural mythology. After witnessing the initial April 2023 arraignment of Trump firsthand in New York City, XVALA helped assemble the core creative team behind Post-Democracy Days, pushing the project from observational footage into a completed feature documentary. Working primarily out of Oklahoma, he helped shape the film's creative direction, assembled much of the production team, and supported the completion of the film's score and post-production process ahead of its acceptance into the deadCenter Film Festival.
